Western Herbs for Ayurvedic Practitioners Course

Quick Overview

Are you a well-educated Ayurvedic practitioner who uses Ayurvedic herbs, but would like to extend your skill set to include Western herbs?

These days, most Ayurvedic students learn at least a little about Ayurvedic herbs in Ayurveda school. What they don’t learn, though, is anything about Western herbs. Now, herbs do not care which country they grow in, and they don’t wear nametags. There is nothing special about an herb that grew in Indian soil. Herbs from North and South America and Europe work just as well, and they can be used in an Ayurvedic way.

Let’s face it, Western herbs are a lot more common out there in the street in America, and your clients are already using and studying Western herbs. You need to know about them. If you learned Ayurvedic principles for using herbs, you can easily transfer that skill to Western herbs in your life and practice.

Over the course of one academic term, we will deeply discuss the similarities and differences between Western and Ayurvedic style herbalism, and how to connect that knowledge you already have with effective Western herbs in your clinic or practice.

We’ll talk about tinctures, common in Western herbalism, but unknown in Ayurveda. We’ll dig into comparing Ayurvedic preparations, such as custom-mixed powders versus capsules. We’ll help solve your problems and answer your long-held questions, and we’ll talk a lot about the different views on dose between the two systems.

If you are ready to take your herbal knowledge to the next level, and use all those unfamiliar herbs your clients are bringing in, let’s get together and spend some time in the realm of Western herbs for Ayurvedic practitioners.
