Our Professional Herbalism Course track is designed to take you from herbalism fundamentals to professional practice over the course of two years of study. You’ll study Global Herbalism Traditions including Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Western Herbal Traditions, and more with instructor K.P. Khalsa, Yogaraj (Ayurveda), A.D., D.N.-C, R.H., who has over 50 years of experience in holistic medicine and is one of the foremost natural healing experts in North America, along with other leading experts in the field of natural healing.
All course are taught online, so you can join from anywhere in the world. If you miss a live class, recordings of the classes are offered so you can catch up or retain the class for later review.
Each level includes 3 non-sequential terms, so you can take them in any order and join the program any time of the year!
Year 1 of our Professional Herbalism Course is offered exclusively online through Portland Community College!
The Professional Herbalist Certificate Course incorporates practical, clinical applications and herbal preparations for Western, Chinese and Ayurvedic herbs. The focus of this course is herbal therapeutics for each body system, specific healing properties of over two hundred individual herbs and basic principles of herbalism from these three major traditional herbal healing systems.
Year 2 of our Professional Herbalism Course presents more in-depth information on Western, Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese herbal traditions. It focuses on evaluation and assessment techniques, clinical application, diagnostic techniques, and a more in-depth knowledge of the global herbal traditions.
The instructors will teach from their own knowledge and experience in each of the given topics, sharing their “clinical gems” with the students.

Our Intermediate course focuses on materia medica, herbal therapeutics and applications for each body system, and fundamentals from Ayurveda, Traditonal Chinese Medicine, and Western Herbal Traditions.
This is a great course for students of all levels to take a deep dive on over 200 herbs, their applications, and role in major herbal healing systems and continue their learning over the summer months.

If you’re interested in a high-level course focussed exclusively on Ayurvedic Herbalism, this is the course for you!
This course focuses on Materia Medica (study of specific properties of individual herbs), Ayurvedic Energetics, Ayurvedic Preparations, Body systems and Health Conditions.
The full course is 3 terms that can be taken non-sequentially.

Our Clinical and continuing training courses provide natural healing professionals with an opportunity to gain clinical hours under supervision, hone their clinical skills, and learn from a cohort of other professionals.
This course offers you a chance to gain experience working with real clients under the direct supervision of experienced herbal and nutritional therapy practitioners. Led by K.P. Khalsa, this course brings together highly trained professional herbalists, naturopathic physicians and TCM practitioners so that you obtain your clinical/internship hours from instructors with real-world clinical experience.
You’ll participate in the ongoing treatment of real clients with real cases, manage clients over the course of their recovery, and learn about the ins-and-outs of working in a clinical practice (including charting, interviewing, orienting your client to treatment, follow-ups and fine-tuning client regimens).

This advanced continuing education course focuses on complex case analysis and practical clinical growth.
Across three full-day online sessions, you will examine advanced clinical pearls, referral and triage strategies, communication techniques, and novel approaches to disorders through collaborative discussion and in-depth case review. The curriculum also highlights lesser-known remedies and practical considerations relevant to real-world practice settings.
This course is great for herbalists, nutritionists, and Ayurvedic practitioners.
