Almost everyone feels tired sometimes. But when tiredness becomes constant, when you wake up unrefreshed, drag through the afternoon, and never quite feel like yourself, it is easy to assume there is nothing to be done, or to reach for whatever promises a quick boost. The trouble is that the same feeling of being tired can have very different causes. Tiredness from poor sleep is not the same as tiredness from stress, which is not the same as the afternoon crash from unstable blood sugar, or the deeper exhaustion that can come from low iron, thyroid changes, or running on empty for too long. Each of these feels similar, but each calls for something different. That is why one-size-fits-all advice so often disappoints.

Long before modern medicine, the great traditions of natural healing understood that energy could run low in different ways. Ayurveda speaks of the strength of digestion and of ojas, the body’s reserve of vitality that is worn down by overwork, worry, and poor nourishment. Traditional Chinese Medicine describes several distinct patterns of tiredness, each with its own signs. Western herbalism developed gentle tonic and restorative herbs meant to rebuild a depleted system over time. These traditions used different words, but they shared a wise instinct that modern medicine agrees with: tiredness is a message from the body, and the goal is to understand what it is telling you, not just to silence it.

Instructor and Approach

This class is taught by an educator who holds a doctorate in Ayurveda and brings more than five decades of practice across Ayurveda, Western herbalism, and the traditional sciences, alongside credentials as a state-certified dietitian-nutritionist (DN-C), Yigaraj in Ayurveda and Registered Herbalist (AHG), and who develops and teaches education under the Global Herbalism framework. The material brings the classical traditions together with current understanding of nutrition and physiology, and it is taught in plain language with care to separate traditional belief from what science has actually shown, and helpful general guidance from what truly requires a doctor, so that you can trust both what is presented and how confidently it is stated.
