Foundations: Preventing & Healing Alzheimer’s, Dementia & Senility – 2 Part Series

Cognitive decline is increasingly understood as a complex, multifactorial process influenced by lifestyle, nutrition, inflammation, circulation, stress, and long-term habits rather than a single cause. In this two-part recorded webinar series, you’ll explore traditional and integrative perspectives on Alzheimer’s, dementia, and age-related cognitive changes through the lenses of herbalism, Ayurveda, nutrition, and emerging research.

Across both sessions, you’ll examine how factors such as inflammation, blood sugar balance, nutrient status, circulation, sleep quality, emotional stress, and environmental influences are believed to affect brain health over time. The course introduces a wide range of traditional strategies used to support cognitive function, including dietary patterns, lifestyle principles, meditation and mental engagement, and herbal categories historically associated with nervous system and brain support.

Rather than presenting a one-size-fits-all approach, the class emphasizes individualized understanding and long-term support, encouraging you to view cognitive health as an extension of whole-body wellness and daily choices.

This class is well suited for students of herbalism, Ayurveda, and integrative health who want a comprehensive, systems-based framework for understanding cognitive aging and brain suppor

Class Description

Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and age-related cognitive decline are no longer viewed as single, uniform conditions. Increasingly, both traditional healing systems and contemporary research recognize these challenges as multifactorial processes shaped by genetics, lifestyle, nutrition, inflammation, circulation, stress, and environmental exposures. This two-part recorded webinar series offers a broad, integrated exploration of these factors and how they relate to long-term brain health.

In Part One, you’ll be introduced to the foundational idea that cognitive decline reflects patterns occurring throughout the body rather than isolated changes in the brain. The course explores how blood sugar regulation, inflammation, cardiovascular health, nutrient sufficiency, stress, and sleep are traditionally understood to influence memory, focus, and mental clarity. You’ll also examine why awareness of early cognitive changes is often considered meaningful within traditional frameworks.

Part Two builds on this foundation by exploring specific nutritional and herbal categories associated with supporting circulation, reducing inflammatory patterns, and nourishing nervous system function. Topics include traditional uses of medicinal mushrooms, roots, spices, minerals, and dietary patterns, as well as discussion of nitric oxide, antioxidant compounds, and lifestyle practices believed to support neuroplasticity and cognitive resilience. Sleep quality, emotional wellbeing, and daily routines are revisited as central pillars of long-term brain support.

Throughout both sessions, the material emphasizes observation, personalization, and sustainability rather than quick fixes. The series encourages you to understand cognitive aging within a whole-systems context and to thoughtfully evaluate how traditional strategies may support mental clarity and quality of life over time.
