Ayurveda is the oldest continuously practiced healing system in the world. A core practice in Ayurveda is the use of healing herbs. Here is your chance to dive into probably the most sophisticated herbal system in human history.
This certificate course is for Ayurveda students who want to greatly enhance their proficiency with herbal healing. Go far past the 20 herbs most Ayurveda students learn in their first year, and the additional 100 herbs typically taught in the second level of Ayurveda education. Over the course of a year, we cover more than 200 Ayurvedic herbs and many dozens of formulas for internal and external use.
This course is the ideal next step for graduates of one-year or two-year Ayurvedic education programs who wish to sharpen their herbal acumen, or for fans of Ayurveda who just want to delve into Ayurvedic herbalism at a deeper professional level. Ayurveda is the medical side of yoga. Yoga teachers can learn Ayurvedic herbalism and add it to their yoga studies. We study Ayurvedic herbs from the traditional perspective, and the modern approach.

This class is modular, which means that students can enroll at the beginning of fall, winter or spring term. This module is one of three modules required to earn the Professional Ayurvedic Herbalist Certification. Modules can be completed in any order.
