High blood pressure, or hypertension, occurs when your blood pressure increases to unhealthy levels. Your blood pressure measurement takes into account how much blood is passing through your blood vessels and the amount of resistance the blood meets while the heart is pumping. Narrow arteries increase resistance. The narrower your arteries are, the higher your blood pressure will be. Over the long term, increased pressure can cause health issues, including heart disease.

About 73 million people in the United States age 20 and older—an astounding one in three adults—have high blood pressure. In fact, since the guidelines have recently changed, it’s expected that nearly half of American adults will now be diagnosed with this condition.

Upwards of 90 percent of those with chronic high blood pressure have no obvious damage or disease, so perhaps 30% are unaware of their condition, prompting its “silent killer” moniker. Over time, high blood pressure is likely to damage every one of your organs. Without a doubt, it’s important to decisively normalize your blood pressure. Don’t ignore it.

In this second part of our class, we will discuss keeping your blood pressure healthy and treating high blood pressure naturally. We’ll build on what we discussed in part 1, and add many new ideas, remedies and techniques. It’s time to advance your knowledge about this killer. Learn herbs, supplements, diet and natural techniques to stay healthy.
