Yeast is a type of fungus that naturally occurs in small amounts on the skin and in the mouth, the intestines, and the vagina. The most common is Candida albicans. Yeast overgrowth is, unfortunately, very common, and the source of a lot of discomfort for many people.
When yeast grows out of control in the digestive tract, it causes a plethora of problems, from ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease to headache, fatigue and sinus infections. The list is long, and chronic yeast overgrowth is at the bottom of many persistent symptoms. As we know, when yeast infects the vagina, it brings some serious discomfort.
Yeast infection comes from taking antibiotics (and who hasn’t?) and from a diet high in refined carbohydrates, especially sugar.
You can conquer yeast, though. Let’s dig into a collection of natural techniques to tame the monster. We’ll look at ways to conquer long-term intestinal infection and vaginal yeast infections, two sides of the same coin.
