Foundations: Menopause

Menopause is not a single event—it is a multi-year physiological transition that affects hormones, metabolism, mood, sleep, cognition, bone health, and overall vitality. In this comprehensive class, K.P. Khalsa reframes menopause as a natural life phase rather than a pathology, helping students understand why symptoms arise and how they can be eased through thoughtful, natural support.
This session explores perimenopause, estrogen and progesterone shifts, adrenal involvement, common symptoms such as hot flashes, insomnia, mood changes, vaginal dryness, and fatigue, and why experiences vary so widely between individuals and cultures. Students gain practical insight into nutritional strategies, herbs, phytoestrogens, lifestyle support, and long-term tonics that can make the menopausal transition smoother and more empowering.

Class Description

Menopause is often misunderstood as a sudden hormonal shutdown—but in reality, it is a gradual transition that unfolds over many years, most of which occurs during perimenopause. In this in-depth webinar, K.P. Khalsa guides students through the full arc of menopausal change, explaining how declining ovarian function, shifting estrogen and progesterone levels, and increased reliance on the adrenal glands create the wide range of physical, emotional, and cognitive symptoms many women experience.

Khalsa places menopause in a global and cultural context, highlighting why women in some societies experience little to no discomfort while others struggle for years. He explores how modern diet, chronic stress, nutrient depletion, sleep disruption, medication use, and lifestyle patterns contribute to symptom severity—and how early, gentle intervention can dramatically change outcomes.

The class covers both symptom-specific relief and long-term constitutional support. Students learn how to work with vasomotor symptoms (hot flashes and night sweats), sleep disturbances, anxiety, mood shifts, memory changes, vaginal and urinary dryness, bone density loss, cardiovascular changes, and fatigue. Particular attention is given to the role of female reproductive tonics, adrenal support, phytoestrogens, minerals, and circulatory enhancers, as well as when stronger interventions may be appropriate.

Rather than presenting menopause as something to “fix,” this course offers a compassionate, practical framework for supporting the body through transition—helping women emerge into post-menopause with stability, clarity, and renewed vitality.
