Histamine intolerance is an indication that you’ve developed too much of this common body chemical.
In the body, histamine has a few major functions, including sending messages to your brain, triggering the release of stomach acid to help digestion and responding after injury or allergic reaction as part of your immune response. When histamine levels get too high or when it can’t break down properly, it can adversely affect some of your bodily functions.
Some common reactions associated with this intolerance include:
· headaches
· nasal congestion
· fatigue
· hives
· digestive issues
· nausea
· vomiting
We naturally produce histamine along with the enzyme diamine oxidase (DAO), which is responsible for breaking down histamine in our diets. If we are unable to break down histamine, we could develop an intolerance.
Problems include
· histamine-rich foods
· GI disorders, including leaky gut syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease
· foods that block DAO or activate histamine release
· bacterial overgrowth
· medications that block DAO
In this webinar, we will discuss histamine intolerance from the natural healing perspective. We will discuss natural remedies and dietary practices that can unwind this challenge.
