It’s time to talk about herpes and cold sores.
The herpes simplex virus (HSV) is an infection that causes herpes, an uncomfortable blistering disorder.
Herpes can appear in various parts of the body, most commonly on the genitals or mouth. There are two
types of the herpes simplex virus.
- HSV-1 (Cold sores): primarily causes oral herpes, and is generally responsible for cold sores and fever blisters around the mouth and on the face.
- HSV-2 (Genital herpes): primarily causes genital herpes, and is generally responsible for genital herpes outbreaks.
About 67 percent of people ages 49 or younger are positive for HSV-1, while around 20 percent of sexually active adults in the United States are infected with HSV-2.
Natural healing has some outstanding remedies for both types of herpes. In this class, we’ll dig into oral herbs and supplements to blunt the symptoms and to prevent outbreaks of both types of herpes. We’ll also look at topical remedies to dull the sting of the blisters. We’ll discuss a wide spectrum of tools, including diet.
All levels welcome, from those experiencing the condition to practicing professionals.
